Planning a wedding should be a joyful experience, but as an LGBTQIA+ couple, it can come with unique worries about finding the right vendors. I want you to feel completely supported, celebrated, and confident when you book me as your inclusive celebrant. Here’s how I address some of the top concerns LGBTQIA+ couples may have:

1. Will You Fully Support and Celebrate Us Without Judgment?

Absolutely! As a proud LGBTQIA+ ally, my priority is to honour and celebrate your love story in a way that feels true to you. Inclusivity is at the heart of everything I do, and my job is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can express yourselves freely and confidently.

2. Will You Assume Traditional Roles or Overlook Our Individuality?

Not a chance. Your love is unique, and I’ll never make assumptions about your relationship or impose traditional roles. Whether you’re walking down the aisle together, incorporating non- binary pronouns, or reimagining traditions entirely, I’ll make sure your ceremony reflects your values and personalities.

Example: I take great care to use inclusive language, whether or not I am officiating an LGBTQIA+ ceremony. Instead of ‘bridal party’ I use ‘wedding party. Instead of ‘ladies and gentlemen’ I use ‘family and friends’.

3. Will Our Ceremony Feel Personal to Us?

Yes! I take the time to get to know each couple so your ceremony feels authentic and deeply personal. From telling your love story to honouring your identities, every word will reflect who you are. This is your moment, and I’ll craft it to be as meaningful and joyful as possible.

4. Will You Respect Our Privacy and Boundaries?

Of course. Your love story is yours alone, and I’ll never tokenise or use it for marketing without your explicit permission. My focus is on creating a memorable and intimate experience, not using you as a “diversity checkbox.”

5. Are You an Experienced LGBTQIA+ Ally?

With over 13 years of experience as a celebrant, I’ve had the honour of officiating countless ceremonies for LGBTQIA+ couples. I understand the unique challenges and joys of your journey, and I’m committed to making your wedding day stress-free, inclusive, and full of love.
