Gavin and Alisha had a Eureka wedding – they got married in the Byron hinterland, in a beautiful little church.
The Couple:
Alisha, a graphic designer, and Gavin, a Construction foreman, live in Sydney. They chose a Eureka wedding as a get-away from the busy-ness of their every day lives.
They have been together forever! With children, a mortgage, and a very happy life, this day was about celebrating their love and all they hold close. They made their already strong relationship legal with their children, friends and relatives sharing this special moment with them.
The Ceremony:
Eureka has a population of about 350 people. It is flanked by Federal, Nashua, Binna Burra, Rosebank, Possum Creek and Clunes. It is about 20 minutes drive to the coast, including Byron Bay. The Eureka Uniting Church was the first Christian Church built in the Byron Shire. It’s first service was in 1883. Today, dwindling numbers have meant that church services no longer occur there- the last one was in October of 2017.
Gavin, in a dark blue suit, stood up the front of the church as his bride and mother of his children came down the aisle. Alisha looked gorgeous in a white wedding dress with a trail. Guests were seated in the church pews and watched as the bride and groom said their vows to each other and made their already strong commitment legal.
Just take a look at those gorgeous flower girls and the beautiful dresses they wore! In dusky pink with lots of tulle, they certainly were photogenic. Nothing could take away from the love this couple has shared over the years. They have already experienced so much of life together as a couple and it was just lovely to see them deciding to get married after so many years together. Thank you so much, Alisha and Gavin, it was truly an honour to be your celebrant on your special day.
